When their Kentucky bourbon tour takes a turn for the worse, two engaged couples join up with strangers to seek shelter in the ruins of an old distillery. Grace encounters more than abandoned spirits on the decaying property, bringing her semi-comfortable world crashing down.
Tensions pull at the group, splintering the couples into teams. Only it’s hard for Grace to know what side to be on when bonds are tested, and opposites no longer attract. Questions abound. Who really are the strangers they paired up with? Should she break convenient bonds for a risky one? Then again, does it even matter if they don’t make it out alive?
Please be advised – The Bourbon Country Series features fast-paced adult psychological thrillers where sexual assault, PTSD, self-blame, and functional alcoholism combine to form a potent blend. Recommended for mature audiences, ages 18+
Pinot Noir by Lorraine Evanoff
Louise Moscow hops from one undercover assignment to another, aided by both a curiosity about how the world works and a determination to make it work for her. Equal parts scholar and sensualist, she will find out the answer but enjoy herself while doing so. One moment she’s deploying her brand of “forensic accounting” to uncover some obscure financial information that may blow up the case; the next she’s swooning over the complex “barnyard smells” of a particular Burgundy. Evanoff is clearly besotted with French history and effectively blends it with her heroine’s struggles against uncooperative witnesses, a mysterious vine disease, a gun-wielding monk, and a secret society. Moscow glides through it all with a James Bondian flair. Able to handle a high-powered speedboat, an ex-lover, or a ginger-haired villain with equal ease, this international spy is a protagonist you’ll want to follow.

Before I even began writing PINOT NOIR, I had already decided to make Book Two a fictionalized version of the real-life ‘bankers grave’ scandal, the un-solved murder of billionaire Edmund J. Safra. My mother suggested the title during an event associated with my first novel, FOLIAGE. It stuck with me, and I began my research of Pinot Noir wine, which pointed to the Burgundy region of France. What shocked me was the real-life crimes of the region I discovered, which were linked to high level public officials leading all the way to the capital of the European Union, Brussels, Belgium.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
When I lived in Paris, several of my close friends worked at the BCCI Paris branch. When the bottom fell out, they lost their jobs and it was a really big deal. When I decided to write my novel around that scandal and began to dig deeper, I realized how complicated the story was and I needed to conduct more research beyond what I learned from my friends. The opening scene of my book was my invention, but was loosely based an event mentioned in a book called “The Outlaw Bank: A Wild Ride into the Secret Heart of BCCI,” written by journalists Jonathan Beaty and S.C. Gwynne. I found more helpful facts in the “Report to the Committee on Foreign Relations, United States Senate,” by Senator John Kerry and Senator Hank Brown. (Toni Nealie)
DESCENDED ~ JETT by Dana Pratola
SOME SAY HE’S A CULT LEADER. OTHERS SAY HE’S NOT HUMAN. One thing is certain ~ Jett Cestone is an enigma with a disconcerting connection to the young women in his employ. When the reclusive billionaire takes an interest in Haven’s painting, she wants to believe it’s an answer to prayer, but what if her father is right? What if he’s dangerous?
Haven is the most interesting woman to ever cross Jett’s path. But being as naïve and pure as she is, he can’t have her learning what goes on in his home, or his connection to sex trafficking. That would be bad enough, but she would never accept him if she knew of his abilities, and that his life is much more paranormal than normal. He has to keep her at a distance, even though she’s living in his home. Too bad he wants her more than he’s wanted anyone or anything in his life.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
This book started off as a piece called Conversations with the Master. I thought it would be interesting to see what topics a woman would talk about with an enigmatic stranger she couldn't see. How intimate would she allow herself to get? How would she hold back, not knowing what he looked like, or what he was really capable of? From there it grew into a story of mystery, love, and self-sacrifice and I brought in three "brothers" (in other books) each with their own ambitions and powers, to help 🙂

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I wanted to write an entertaining story about two engaging people. Also, I wanted it to say something. Many of the characters in the book are flawed, but there is usually an underlying reason, which is eventually revealed. Do they deserve empathy? That's the question I leave up to the reader.

The Future Memoir of Ann Jones by Alex Bailey
When the perfectly-normal Ann Jones rants on about a bizarre and hauntingly immersive vision into her own future, her best friend, Alex, thinks she may have taken a swig or two.
After her freak encounter, Ann recounts the strange and foreboding glimpse of her future life—one that holds an unanticipated exuberance: her beloved husband dies suddenly (and questionably); she moves to the East Coast; finds love again; joins a peculiar knitting club (full of the strangest assortment of women, none of whom actually knit, but all of whom follow cult-like rules—such as, “What Happens in Knitting Club Stays in Knitting Club”); and becomes deliriously happy.
Her whole recollection leaves Alex’s head spinning with one question—has her friend totally lost it? How could anyone be deliriously happy about joining a knitting club? But when Ann presses Alex for an answer about what to do with this “future life vision experience”, Alex must decide whether this strange anecdote is just a desire to be free from Ann’s humdrum existence or a self-fulfilling prophecy. Should Alex support her friend’s “new life” or warn Ann’s husband about his impending doom…

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My friend, Ann Jones inspired it. As I reveal in the book, she described every detail of this mysterious future vision of hers. I didn't figure out what was actually happening until the end of her story. And then I had a decision to make. But, well, I don't want to ruin anything for the reader, so I'll leave it at that.

Buyer Beware by Colleen Charles
I said I could do casual…and swore I’d never fall in love.
I lied.
I know all about her type.
Dirt poor. Check.
Gold digger. Check. Check.
Marcella’s hot as hell and just as intriguing. I live in a swanky Vegas penthouse on top of my equally posh boutique casino. She’s lived in a dilapidated seventies trailer far too long to have patience for billionaire playboys like me that can just snap their fingers and have women fall at their feet, begging to be dominated. She stands for everything I despise. Which is why my obsession with her makes zero sense.
She’s innocence incarnate…I’m the guy who steals it. I can have anything I want, whenever I want it.
And I want her.
Marcella Castillo needs to be taught a lesson. She thinks she’s not the kind of girl I can buy and sell. She’s wrong. But somewhere along the line, the boundaries blur. In my heart, I feel a newfound tenderness and vulnerability that I’ve never known. This woman pulls at my heart strings until my solid walls come tumbling down and I let her in. And I’m happy.
The happiest I’ve ever been since my dad took himself six feet under leaving me with four younger brothers to raise.
Until a vicious sociopath and a haunting secret from Marcella’s past threatens to destroy every single thing I’ve just sold my soul to possess.
