What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Watching "Criminal Minds" is always inspiring when trying to write about serial killers. I saw an episode that sparked my imagination and I started to do some research. A local Chief of Police here in Florida added some great ideas and adding an FBI profiler seemed appropriate. The book has romance, passion, terror and murder.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Liza reflected insecurities that I believe most women suffer on some level and to also be a caregiver gave her depth. And I wanted the character of Nash to be different than the typical FBI Profiler, so I gave him some physical issues. Together they were able to support each other.
A drop of sweat slid between Liza Boone's breasts. Blood pounded through her veins and her temples throbbed. The taste of death lingered on her tongue, so she swallowed what felt like razorblades, blinked, and forced herself to concentrate. Had it only been a few hours ago she was sitting on her dock, sipping coffee, and looking forward to another quiet day?
