A cold case threatens to shatter DI Callan Cameron’s career.
Blaine Macgregor vanished on a summer’s night fifteen years ago. Now, Callan is investigating his case one last time. But it means unearthing a bygone summer Callan would rather forget.
This investigation takes Callan on a journey of truth, betrayal, and the meaning of friendship. Perhaps, this time, he needs help from amateur sleuth, innkeeper, and potential girlfriend, Aileen Mackinnon.
With his career and heart at stake, Callan and Aileen navigate betrayal and trust to answer one question: Is Blaine still alive?

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Writing about DI Callan Cameron comes from my own experience of having a surgery at the age of 16 and finding myself tied down rather than breaking out. This book gave me an opportunity to look back and see how that one incident might have changed my life when it came to having friends. But while mine was a minor surgery, Callan has to come to terms with an amputation, while questioning the meaning of friendship and what friends do for each other.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
My characters are a part of me, and the world around me. I believe, no matter where we are raised or where we come from, intrinsically we are all human with very unique yet similar responses. I like to write characters that I understand and sympathise with and with whom most readers can relate to.
