What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My Mennonite grandparents fled from Ukraine in 1920s during the Russian civil war. After visiting Ukraine in 2014, I decided their story needed to be told. But since I didn't know their entire story, I
decided to create a fictional story based on historical facts.
