Ariel Bauer’s career as a computer programmer is destroyed when she goes to prison for hacking. She feels lucky when, upon her release, she’s able to secure a decent job as a hairdresser. Now she just wants to be left alone. But the FBI isn’t done with her. They have a case they want her to help with—an international child pornography case. And the FBI doesn’t take “no” for an answer.
Ariel finally agrees, but when trouble erupts, the agents arrest her again. This time, however, Ariel has friends inside the Bureau—especially Sam MacAteer, who knows how seriously he misjudged her in the past. When the agents go to Romania to crack the crime syndicate running the child pornography ring, Ariel goes along. They don’t anticipate danger, but the crime syndicate fights back. When Ariel is kidnapped during the sting, Sam has to decide: stay with the cops, or save Ariel. Because now, there’s no time to spare.
