Deputy Tempe Crabtree is called to Tehachapi, a mountain community to investigate a ghost reported in a haunted house. While there, she becomes involved in a murder, hears a mysterious voice on the wind, is confronted by an Indian legend, and learns a lot about a past earthquake. The closer she gets to untangling the mystery, the more danger she finds herself in.
