What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Temporarily Out of Luck is the third book in the Hattie Cooks mysteries. I wrote Temporarily Employed as a result of a car game while on a road trip. My friend asked questions and we'd answer, like: Pick one-Englebert Humperdink or Tom Jones. Then she asked us to write the opening paragraph of a book using the word "window." I had nothing-nothing. My friend knew I wanted to write and I suspected that was why she asked the question. Anyway, the next day at home, I sat down at the family computer and wrote eight chapters! Who knew? I tinkered for a couple of weeks and finally found the courage to show my friend. She read the pages, passed them back, and said, "Keep going." I did.
