Authors: Share Your Mystery Book

Tell our readers about your book. The more information you include in your post, the more your readers can get to know you and your writing style. If you put nonsense or characters in required fields and do not fill them out with real information your post will be deleted.

Why do we ask for so much information?
We want readers to be able to find your book and learn about you as an author. For that reason we want you to share more than what is on your Amazon book page and something different than what you may post on other sites. If you skip our required fields you are not giving our readers what they want and therefore your post will be deleted and not posted.

Check your submission
Please check your submission for accuracy before you hit the submit button. However it looks here is how it will be published. Beware that if you cut and paste from Word or Amazon description your post may contain extra lines or not look like you intend it to. The best thing to do is copy and paste to a plain text document (like Notepad) before you copy to our form. Only include links in the spaces indicated, not in your book synopsis. We also do not allow html.

Inappropriate books will be rejected
Forms that are filled with repeat information to get past the required fields will be deleted and not posted to our site. Nonfiction books and books that are not mystery genre will also be deleted. This site is for mystery book lovers – hence the name Mystery Reads 🙂 Please respect our time and do not submit inappropriate books. All posts are subject to approval, inappropriate books will be deleted without notice.

How long will it take for my book to show up on Mystery Reads?
Books will be posted in the order they were received and could take up to 21 days to be scheduled. We do not send notification of posts being scheduled, however you will get an email when your book is posted. Please whitelist dc @ mysteryreads.com email address so you get our emails. All approved books will go to our Facebook and Twitter pages and to our email list. Featured (paid) listings may also be chosen to be posted to our Instagram account as well as several Pinterest accounts.

  • Please capitalize properly and make sure this is the author of the book's name. This will be inserted into the title of the post.
  • Email will not be displayed or shared. This is the email address that will be added to the newsletter list if you choose to sign up.

  • This is where you "sell" readers on checking out your book. Tell us about your book, what is it about, what makes it interesting to read? You can include editorial reviews with attribution. No html or links in this section. The only links that will be in the post are those from the form below.
  • Accepted file types: jpg, jpeg, png, gif.
    Please name your image with your book title (no spaces) and upload an image no larger that 500 pixels wide and smaller than 100mb. Large images will cause the form to fail.
  • Readers love to know why writers write. Give them a bit of information to entice them to want to read your book because of why you wrote it.
  • Inquiring minds want to know.
  • This will not be in the post but will be considered for inclusion in a future Tips for Mystery Writers book, along with other information from the form.
  • Link directly to the video on YouTube or other video hosting site. Links to a webpage that includes a video will not be used. You MUST include the direct link here to YouTube, not a redirect or short link.
  • If your category isn't listed just use the closest category and list your genre in the tags. It is in your best interest to put your book in the right category so readers can find it.

  • Separate tags with commas

    If you submit more than 10 tags the rest will be deleted.

  • In all link fields below we need direct links to the sites - NO SHORTCODES, TRACKING LINKS, LINK SHORTENERS OR REDIRECTS

    Any authors that consistently post short codes, redirects, bit.ly or tinyurl or other such links will be banned, or at the very least your posts will be deleted. We want readers to get where they need to go 🙂 Thanks for understanding and cooperating! This includes azon links.

There is a series of numbers and letters after /dp/ or /product/ - that series of numbers and letters before the next/ is your ASIN. It is also listed on your book detail page.     Listing Options:
    Free Option: We will list your book as space becomes available, up to 3 weeks after submission. You are not able to choose a specific date for your book to be posted on our site.

    Paid Listing: You can choose the date for your book to be listed and it will stay on the site for the duration specified in the purchase. It will also be stickied to the home page for the duration chosen, and may be posted to our Instagram account.
  • If you have a prepay code from us or a discount coupon from our Author Newsletter enter it here and be sure to click the APPLY button BEFORE you continue to submit your book.

    Our Author Only newsletter will be sent to give you site updates to the BookGoodies network of sites that this site is part of. It is not a high traffic list and is only for authors that have posted books on our sites so we may keep you up to date on activities and opportunities from the BookGoodies network. You will be sent an email to confirm your subscription and you may unsubscribe at any time.

    The Bookgoodies network of sites has my permission to post this material to its own site, to NightFire Publications or other websites that are specific to the books reviewed. I also give my permission for the BookGoodies network to use my submission in compilation books of advice for other writers, with attribution. Permission extends to posting to social media owned by the BookGoodies network and NightFire Publications as well.
