Having now lived in 3 active adult retirement communities (I’m 81), I wanted to write about my observations of the lifestyles, the people, the fears, the problems, the medical concerns, and the stereotypical attitudes embedded in the media, as well as the general population, that inaccurately depict aging and retirement. Time to Retire took almost three years to write and to try to get everything representative of the “golden years.”
