This typical Monday morning turns out to be more delusional for Shawnda as she enjoys her free caramel latte at her favorite neighborhood coffee shop. The atmosphere and customers don’t quite seem to fall into the typical Monday morning coffee shop routine, which leaves her bamboozled.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Go-Go- Juice, right? I know it sounds silly but that’s usually what I call my coffee. So, I had a thought of writing a story based around coffee. At first, I wanted to write a comedy but then a mystery was better suited for this story.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I just thought of everyday people that frequently visit their neighborhood coffee shop. Since I always visit coffee shops myself, I just took real life people I observe and put them in my book to generate a good fun story.
Monday morning and the birds are chirping; water sprinklers are on in the neighborhood and traffic is moving effortlessly, which is a sign of a good day! Shawnda decides to stop in at Go-Go Juice, the local coffee shop two blocks away from her job. As a regular for the last two years the owner often gives her perks and today, she went in for her free caramel latte.
"Hey Shawnda," yells Jody from behind the counter as she walks in.
"Happy Monday Jody!" Shawnda exclaimed.
"I'm here for my large caramel latte Fred promised me."
"Coming right up."
Shawnda sits at a two-person table by the front door of Go-Go Juice. She pulls out her tablet to read E entertainment online and see what the hot topic of the week is. Some college scandal is going on and Joan thinks to herself I wish my parents had a game plan for me to get in a top college, they are such honest slackers. Quickly reminded of her college loan debt she starts feeling perturbed and clicks on New fall- fashion a Maxie dress for all occasions.
As Jody looks around the coffee shop, she notices three people sitting in a trance. Wondering if they are just in deep thought, meditating or maybe praying. One man grabbed his coffee and starting to drink it, but it was as if a hole was in his mouth. Coffee was running down his chin. It was a three-second delay before he put his cup down and didn't even wipe his face.
"What the hell you are looking at?" Jordon says as he taps her on the shoulder and startles her.
"Got damn it, Jordan!! I'm looking at your daddy"! Shawnda expresses annoyed.
"Man, some of the folks in here are off this morning. Look at that fool over there just staring into space, what the hell?"
"Yo, he does look off maybe Fred is putting more than caffeine in them go-go juices." They both look at each other, shake their heads and giggle.
"So, you going to work today," Shawnda asks Jordan with a raised eyebrow.
"Well of course girlfriend, with the energy I'm feeling outside and full moon in the Gemini last night, today is the day I talk to my boss about my raise. I'm over working long hours and doing all the work in the office for pennies, and that chick Tina walks her big ass in just too run a report and he's like here is an extra five thousand dollars to your pay, with his tongue hanging out his mouth."
"I'm over that BS!"
"Here is your Carmel Latte extra caramel," Jody says in a robotic tone, looking dazed and walks away.
"Thanks, beautiful!" Shawnda felt awkward like Jody left her hanging without a welcome or even a quick conversation like they always do. Since the coffee shop was literally dead, she was hoping for some good vibes and conversation with Jody.
"That was weird, why the hell she didn't speak like she usually does," Jordan states.
"Right, she didn't even look at us. She was cool when I walked in. Look at her now, staring at the ceiling."
"Okay creepy, eerie, and Straight-up bananas."
"See I told you folks is off today up in here."
"I wonder where Fred is?"
A mother and child in the coffee shop get up and start dancing in a rhythmic motion on one accord and humming.
Jordan laughs hysterically spitting out his coffee.
"Girl I can't with Go-Go Juice today, I'm headed to work wish me luck!"
